Upcycling Project

Designed and built a coffee table using all discarded and reclaimed materials. Utilized an old bulletin board as the table top, sanded and refinished the back side of the bulletin board, then wrapped the board in mahogany wood to create a uniform edge. Then used old drain pipes and fittings to make adjustable legs and a sturdy frame for the table. Used a waterjet to cut a sheet of Plexiglass to lay in the center of the table top above the wood. Designed the table first in SolidWorks, and then fabricated it using shop tools. Worked in a team of three.

The bulletin board was wrapped in scraps of pine wood, and cut into picture frame joints at the corners.
